Hungry for more details? These information about the restaurant’s specialty may keep your craving satisfied

Chikuho Noodles

This name came from a part of the Kyusyu region which was located between two capital cities namely Kitakyushu and Fukuoka city. Chikuho was usually known in its coal mining industry which fueled its economic growth since 1960s. However, despite its economic boom, Chikuho area is engulfed with relatively untouched villages and natural forest.

Tonkotsu Ramen

Ramen is known to be a staple product of Japan and considered to be a soul food by young and old folks and even those across the world. This is a very popular regional style of ramen and a specialty of its origin—Kyushu region. Ramen noodles are known or characterized to be thin and straight noodles in rich creamy pork broth—the result of boiling pork bones with several seasonings for many hours in order to ensure the rich pork extract and hearty flavor.

Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen Special Ingredients consist of special soy sauce, tonkotsu soup, noodle, and chashu.

Different kinds of ramen available are AKA Tonkotsu (for light eaters with high demands for flavors),  Ikkoryu Original Tonkotsu, Yuzu Tama Tonkotsu, Chashu Tonkotsu, Ajitama Tonkotsu, Spicy Tobonjan Tonkotsu, Black Garlic Tonkotsu and many more heart-warming ramen noodles .

The first time I visited this restaurant in Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City,  I ordered Spicy Tobonjan Tonkotsu – since I have this passion for eating spicy noodles. It consists of a spicy Tobonjan paste which results in an absolutely appetizing and wholesome flavor, enough to make you fire up.

With regards to its environment, it was obviously designed in an Asian way. Bamboos are enough to describe it.

Health Talk: Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

What Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Is

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia or CLL is a type of cancer affecting the blood and bone marrow (a spongy tissue inside the bones where blood cells are made).

“Chronic” comes from the fact that this type of cancer typically progresses more slowly than any other types of leukemia do while “lymphocytic” comes from the cells being affected by this disease which can most commonly affect older adults.

What the Symptoms Are

Many patients with CLL may have no early symptoms. Those who do may experience fatigue, fever, enlarged but painless lymph nodes, night sweats, frequent infections , weight loss and pain in the upper left portion of the abdomen which may be caused by an enlarged spleen.

What Causes CLL?

Even doctors cannot be certain what process usually causes this type of disease to occur except that something happens in order for the cancer cells to mutate genetically in the DNA of these blood-producing cells which may possibly cause the blood cells to produce abnormal and ineffective lymphocytes.

When these abnormal lymphocytes are beyond ineffective, they continue to live and multiply when the normal ones would die, accumulating in the blood and certain organs where they could cause complications. These abnormal lymphocytes would crowd healthy cells out of the bone marrow and interfere with the production of normal blood cells.

What Are The Risk Factors?

What could possibly put you at risk for having this illness are your race, exposure to chemicals, age, gender, and most importantly , your family history of blood and bone marrow cancers.

White people are more likely prone to develop CLL than people of other race do, most especially men. People who are 60 years of age are mostly diagnosed with this kind of disease. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia is mostly inherited- your family history of blood and bone marrow cancers may increase your risk.

Exposed to chemicals? They can also put you at risk, including certain herbicides and insecticides.

What Are The Complications?

Untreated CLL may possibly cause complications such as immune system problems, frequent infections, switch to a more aggressive form of cancer and lastly, increased risk of other cancers.

Note: I may not have this condition, but I still am curious to the point that I decided to research about CLL and make a write up.

A Short Spiel (Conversation Type)

Abi:  Hi ____________ , good afternoon and welcome to  Asian Academy of Television Arts.  I’m Abigail.  Is there anything I can help you with?

___________ :  Hi  Ms. Abigail, good afternoon. I’m Tonee .  I would like to inquire regarding the school and the courses offered.

Abi : Hi Ms. Tonee.  Asian Academy of Television Arts is a specialty school which caters to an individual’s needs by offering training courses that would train his/her knowledge and skills when it comes to entertainment industry, as well as helping one boost up his/her personality, confidence and ability to socialize with other people.  Courses offered are Creative Scriptwriting, Performing Arts (Acting, Voice and Dance), Keyboard and Guitar Lessons , Eric Morris Acting System, and more.

Tonee:  I want to learn how to ramp like a model.  Is there a course being offered for those who want to become one?

Abi:  Yes, Ms. Tonee. We also offer Modelling courses. Aside from the courses mentioned before, we also do have Language Proficiency, Personality Enhancement, Voice One-On-One, Mind Sync and other courses, depending on the client’s needs. These are categorized as special module classes.

Tonee:  What do I get from enrolling in any of these workshop or training courses? Is there any requirement such as good singing voice or experience in acting?

Abi: The school will help in training you to develop your personality through means of intensive lectures and hands on sessions on which course you decide to take. I also used to be a shy type of individual before until I enrolled here at AATA. I learned what it is like to perform in front of an audience, as well as working in the field of television industry. Enrolling here at AATA also helped me learn to step out of my comfort zone and socialize with other people.  You will really learn a lot from here.

Tonee:  That’s very nice to hear. Last question,  how do I pay for the course that I plan to take here at AATA?  Are there any requirements I need to accomplish?

Abi:  Payment can be done either through installment basis or you can simply deposit through BDO. You can visit AATA and present a 2×2 ID picture, an accomplished admission form,  and transcript of records.

Tonee:  Thank you,  Ms. Abigail

Abi:  Is there anything else I can help you with?

Tonee: That’s all . Thank you again and have a nice day

Abi: You’re welcome and have a nice day too.

2016-New Year, New Beginning

Year 2015 has passed…. it’s a brand new year with a new beginning. If I may just re-phrase the song “One Day More” from the musical Les Mis, I’d say it’s another year, another destiny, and another chapter unfolding.

Sure we may face another trial in our life, our never ending road to Calvary but there’s always hope that comes with it given by God and a strength to journey on throughout this year . Leave the past , especially negative ones. Live the dream instead of killing it. Listen to those positive voices rather than negative ones . Focus on your strengths and work on whatever it is you need to improve on. Don’t stop believing in yourself. Everything is possible.

There’s always a new beginning for everyone. This year is the sign we await to change ourselves and our attitude for the better. A new chance to work on improving whatever it is we need to improve . A chance to change our lifestyle and get rid of those vices we’ve been having for a very long time (smoking, drinking liquor, gambling… and so on- It is time to put all those bottles, cigarette sticks and cards down).
